I recently was asked by a follower why I had stopped posting my photos of the day...and the truth is life just got in the way.  At his request, I am going to try to start posting them again.  So, today I thought it fitting that I start with the mountains that inspire me most. Pink Skies Over Gray Wolf

The other night I saw my daughter grab her iPod and run outside---this is what she was running to take a picture of.  I couldn't agree with her more that it was a picture worthy sunset.

Satellite Elk

Believe it or not, this "little" guy was a satellite bull in a herd near Madison Junction in Yellowstone.  The herd bull had a 7x7 elk rack.  September 2005.

Relaxin'

This grizzly bear was sunning itself on the rocks at the base of Specimen Ridge in Yellowstone.  The bear had just come up from the Lamar River where it had found an animal carcass to enjoy and apparently decided it was time relax in the sun.  September 2013.

Grand Scenic

Scenic views don't get much "grander" than this view.  This photo was taken looking east from Dunraven Pass in Yellowstone.  In the distance you can see the top of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Specimen Ridge, Mirror Plateau and the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountain Range.  September 2013.
